Artlantis 6

Drawing on the concepts that made it the success it is today -- the user-friendly interface and the power of its features -- Artlantis meets all your needs when it comes to speed, ease-of-use, and high quality renderings and animations. The stand-alone rendering application chosen by more than 85 000 architects, designers, space planners, interior designers, urban planners, and landscape architects in more than 80 countries, Artlantis is available in two versions: Artlantis Render shines in the rendering of still images, while Artlantis Studio excels in the creation of animations and virtual panoramas with iVisit 3D.

New Features

To create stunning images, Artlantis 6 now includes its own built-in physical engine, emphasizing physical rendering quality, precision, material accuracy, and energy consumption.

Physical Engine

White Balance

White Balance allows you to adjust the dominant color of a scene to the ambient lighting. Simply set this new parameter to automatic color mode or select a reference color, which will be recognized as white in the 3D scene.

Ambient occlusion

This new option in Artlantis allows users to display a global ambient occlusion to create virtual shadows in small areas where natural light doesn’t go. It brings more depth and relief to both interior and exterior scenes.

White model

During calculation, white model rendering changes all surfaces to white except for those that are transparent. Lights maintain their color for sophisticated environments.

Pre-settings

Choose among many pre-set modes (indoor, outdoor, low light) and different definitions (speed, medium, quality), to quickly set the best results!

Lighting and Neon Lighting

Exposure

Artlantis offers two illumination methods: Automatic Light Adjustment and ISO/Shutter. By choosing the Automatic Light Adjustment setting, the lights and neon power used in the scene are automatically adjusted to the sky and sun illumination.

IES Lights

By default, Artlantis offers 8 IES pre-set profiles. Artlantis 6 now allows you to import downloaded IES profiles from manufacturers’ websites. These files are used to simulate realistic illumination of your projects. For even greater flexibility, Artlantis 6 allows you to easily edit the brightness, color, direction and opening angle.

HDRI

Artlantis now fully compatible with HDRI files, for the background and for the global illumination. The "enhanced sky" function in the engine settings increases the photorealism of the images.

Neon shader

In addition, neon lights have been completely updated for this version with considerable gains in terms of quality and calculation speed.

Site Insertion

When using the site insertion feature, Artlantis 6 offers a new and simple projection process with more accurate calculations. After aligning the XYZ axis in the 2D view and in the preview window, the model is easily positioned on the background image. A revolutionary integrated tool allows you to add transparency to a foreground image directly in Artlantis to enhance the quality of your projects.

Integrated Alpha Mask Editor

This revolutionary tool allows you to add transparency to a foreground image directly in Artlantis to enhance the quality of your projects.

Laser Projection

With a simple click on the reference plane in the preview window, you set the position and orientation of the projection of the laser. A red line projected 360 in the model allows you to automatically position the objects or textures.

Catalog & Media

Accessing the Artlantis Media Store is now done with a single click. To customize your catalog, Artlantis 6 lets you freely create your own folders at level 2. New selection features allow you to view recently used media, shaders and objects already in the project or those added to the selection. Thanks to the "drop-drop" tool, you can insert random media from the selection into the project with every click of the mouse.

Smartools

Preview

The preview interactively navigates in block display or surface display, with or without automatic switches in OpenGL. OpenGL is displayed in color, hidden line, wireframe, or a combination.

Display Filter

With the display filter, you can now quickly find one object's materials, the objects in a view, the project's shaders...

Search

For even greater productivity, search fields have been added to the lists of each inspector.

KeyServer

The KeyServer protection allows you to automatically start Artlantis 6 on Macintosh, and as a service on Windows.

Object creation

When creating an object, it is now easy to define its orientation.

Retina

On Mac, Artlantis 6 is now compatible with Retina screens for high quality display.

Animation (Artlantis Studio only)

Autosave

A long-awaited change: Artlantis 6 now makes it possible to autosave a file.

Post-process

A new vignetting effect is now available in post-process.

iVisit 3D (Artlantis Studio only)

iVisit 3D is an innovative and easy way to present panoramas or VR objects of your projects online or on a mobile device. iVisit 3D uses only still images and not a real 3D model or animation, making the calculations and navigation very fast. Developed especially for architects and designers, iVisit 3D allows users to view and share a project by navigating between viewpoints on the floor plan, in a palette of thumbnail preview images, or directly within the 3D views.

iVisit 3D Panorama

Creating an iVisit 3D panorama presentation is easy using Artlantis Studio 6. Just create as many panoramic views of your project as you want to show, and simply link them to each other with a ‘drag & drop’. You’re ready to create your panorama! Artlantis Studio creates a folder with all the necessary files for an online presentation (Flash™ player, images, HTML files, etc.). By saving projected plan views into a special folder, you can also navigate in the project using the floor plan.

iVisit 3D VR Object

iVisit 3D VR Object allows you to manipulate and move a scene in 360°. Performed automatically, simply select the number of images to calculate horizontally and vertically to ensure a smooth animation.

iVisit 3D on the web or on the go !

The iVisit 3D Flash Player from Artlantis Studio -- free and royalty free -- is automatically created in the HTML folder when Artlantis Studio calculates a panorama or VR Object. Simply upload the panorama folder to the FTP server storing the website and link it to the other pages. You can also, even more easily, host your projects on iVisit3D.com within your own member area. The“iVisit 3D Builder application is delivered with Artlantis Studio to convert your iVisit 3D files for iVisit 3D on iPad, iPhone, and Android smartphones and tablets. Simply transfer them to your mobile platform and start your virtual tour! Just transfer the .pno file from your computer to your mobile device (via iTunes, Dropbox or Box.net) and start your virtual tour. iVisit 3D is FREE and downloadable from the AppStore and Google Play.

Optional Artlantis Farm Render

Artlantis Render Farm offers the Artlantis user community more than 300 CPU's to produce photo-realistic still images or complex, high-definition animations with the high quality settings that clients demand, at a fraction of the average rendering times. Artlantis Render Farm currently supports Artlantis Render and Artlantis Studio versions 3, 4 and 5. In the future, the current version and the immediately previous version will be supported. Users have the option to ask for either an Artlantis engine calculation or a Maxwell Render engine calculation.
